When expectations, priorities, and influence are often ambiguous.
For professionals working inside complex APS roles who want to improve how they think, prioritise, and make decisions in their day-to-day work.
Focus on how you operate inside your role, not changing your role or career direction.
Workload, competing priorities, stakeholder expectations, communication, and decision making under pressure.
For managers and leaders responsible for shaping direction, supporting others, and making decisions that influence teams and outcomes.
Focus on how you lead people, set direction, and create clarity for others in complex environments.
Leadership presence, communication, judgement, and leading through ambiguity and change.
For professionals navigating career direction, progression, or transition within the APS or broader public sector.
This coaching focuses on decisions about where you are going next.
It supports clarity on options, positioning for opportunities, and confidence in applications, interviews, and career moves.
Make clearer decisions about your next step and move forward with intent.

I work with professionals across the Australian Public Service who are navigating complex roles, competing priorities, and high expectations for performance and delivery.
My background spans leadership development, coaching supervision, facilitation, and direct work with individuals and teams across public sector environments. Much of the work focuses on how people operate inside complexity rather than trying to simplify the environment itself.
Across this work, I am interested in how clarity, attention, and decision making shape performance in real workplace conditions.
Coaching in this context is practical and grounded. It focuses on live work, current challenges, and the patterns that influence how people think, act, and respond under pressure.
I am a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation, reflecting my commitment to coaching capability grounded in rigorous practice, ethical standards, and ongoing professional development. I have coached someone physically located on every continent, including Antarctica, which has given me a broad perspective on how career, leadership, and performance challenges show up across different cultures and professional environments.

A significant part of my work has also focused on understanding how people experience recruitment, selection, and progression within the APS.
The APS Recruitment Game provides practical frameworks for understanding recruitment processes and improving performance in applications and interviews. It helps professionals move beyond guesswork and approach opportunities with clearer strategy, stronger communication, and greater confidence.
The ideas in the book sit alongside the coaching work, particularly around clarity of expectations, decision making under ambiguity, and understanding how systems shape behaviour.

A 3-hour interactive workshop for professionals preparing for APS recruitment, promotion, or transition into new roles. Participants work with practical models and frameworks from The APS Recruitment Game to strengthen how they approach applications and interviews.
View Workshop DetailsLe Lievre translates from French to English as the Hare and inspired the Hare Consulting name, and informs my approach to work of helping hares perform like tortoises. While the hare relies on speed, the tortoise succeeds through consistency, focus and perseverance. In today’s fast-paced workplaces, especially in government and professional services, that lesson matters more than ever.
Hare Consulting provides structured support for professionals navigating career decisions, recruitment processes, and leadership transitions both in Canberra, Australia and virtually around the world.
Supporting APS and public sector teams through workshops, facilitation, and capability development focused on leadership, communication, collaboration, and team effectiveness in complex organisational environments
