You haven’t been to your last interview yet, so let’s make the next one easy.

At the risk of starting in a negative (albeit likely factual) way you haven’t been to the last interview of your career yet, you are not in the job you will retire from. My experience as a scribe and recruitment panel member has taught me that interviews are a bit like a game, there are rules and there are strategies you can implement to make the process easier for you and help the recruitment panel members select you as their preferred candidate.

By working together my intent is that you will be able to put the best version of you into the interview process, you won’t necessarily be successful in every job you apply for but you will have the tools and techniques you need to present your case confidently and comfortably in the interview process.

How I can help you.

I’ve helped people successfully navigate the interview process drawing on my APS recruitment and scribe experience coupled with my executive coaching and facilitation skills.  As a scribe I sat in 320+ public service interviews and I saw a lot of good and a lot of bad performers.  I identified similarities in answers that panel members gave higher scores to and have used these to develop principles, structures and frameworks.

I created the Interviews Made Easy course based on this experience.  The course includes an online course and mock interviews \ coaching sessions to help prepare you for the interview.  The workbook covers the following topics:

  • Principles of interviews
  • Prepping for your interview
  • Common questions and how to answer them
  • Structuring your answers –the information they need in the way they want it
  • Getting unstuck – what to do when you don’t know what to do next
  • Questions to ask the panel – what you can ask the panel to further increase your chances
  • How to maximise your referees

2 x One on One Mock Interviews \ Coaching sessions

You wouldn’t play a grand final with no preparation, training or without playing any games, so lets have some practice interviews.

In these sessions I will answer any questions you have and will conduct a mock interview with you. While the session is flexible the usual process is for me to ask you an interview style question which you answer for 5 minutes and then we reflect on what worked and what you might do differently next time. This gets you used to answering interview questions using the skills you’ve developed in the previous modules before your actual interview.

The content discussed in all sessions will be confidential in line with the ICF Code of Ethics.

Three of the attendees have been successful in gaining promotions, and I am one of them (our promotions took effect from last Friday) – Interviews Made Easy Workshop participant.

I felt better prepared, more comfortable and definitely more relaxed during my interview.  I was comfortable that if I did get stuck I knew what I would fall back on and I was able to present more confidently as result of working with Brendon. – successful in EL2 promotion
